OOC MEME TIME YAYE

OH HEY LOOK IT'S THAT CHARACTER MEME THING ALL THE KIDS ARE DOING THESE DAYS.
Name and meaning:
Max. This requires layers of digging to get at the meaning. Assuming it's short for Maximilian and not Maxwell (lol) we then find that Maximilian is a Latin name comes from the Latin name Maximus. And this means Greatest. Which is exactly what the word max means in English. So all of this running around was totally unnecessary. Great.
Age and date of birth:
24, Bicepuary 1st, 1984
Physical attributes: (Elaborate on everything, from hair style to muscle tone to the their eyelid's tendency to flicker up and down during a boring teacher's lessons. Twitch.)
Huge, oh god huge. The first thing you notice about Max is he's bigger than should be allowed. He's 6'8" tall, his frame is beyond wide, and he tops 300 lbs. Once you get past how huge he is then you notice that most of that huge is muscle. Max is built like a brick house – he's several brick houses, he's an entire town of brick houses. His hands are huge and calloused.
His hair is a strong blue color, as are his eyes. His hair is short, and kinda spiky. He likes it that way. He's also recently taken it upon himself to grow some sideburns to frame his meaty face. He's got a strong jaw line.
Distinguishing features: (Anything unusual—scars, tattoos, etc. Or an unusual color of hair. What makes your character an individual? Please do not say violet-colored eyes.)
Biceps. His arms are bigger around than most people's waists are. And muscle in general – he's got it everywhere and in greater quantities than anywhere this side of a butcher's counter. Also, blue hair.
Frequently used verbal expressions: (Either phrases “unbelievably pretentious!” or attitude.)
"Um" " Uh" "Yeah, okay". " Let's go!" "Hey!" "Biceps" "Guns" "Tanks" "Sir" and "Ma'am."
When Max talks, he generally has a lot of enthusiasm. Way more enthusiasm than most people put out. Max never does anything by halves. His voice is loud, brash, and baritone. He has a big, open laugh. He drops the Gs off of the ends of words most of the time.
Of course, he also gets himself embarrassed fairly easily, and when that happens he gets all quiet and sort of mumbles and may stutter some.
Frequently used facial expression or other physical gesture: (They motion with their hands while they talk, never look people in the eye while giving speeches, tap their pens while listening to professors.)
Goofy smile. Max smiles at almost everything. He's smiling like 80% of the time. The other 20% is divided between being confused, amazingly enthusiastic, or angry, in descending order of occurrence.
Max makes big motions. He doesn't do delicate little motions, with hands or arms or anything – he's clumsy to a fault. He flexes a lot. A whole lot. He's sort of obsessed with his muscles (you'd have to be to end up like him).
When he's angry he balls his fists up and stomps. Oh lord he stomps.
He gets restless if he has to sit around for a long time. He'll start jittering his leg up and down if he has to sit around for too much.
Education (and grade): (Please elaborate on education prior to, during, and after school, including their level of interest in their subject of choice (or as chosen by another) and their general academic behavior. Did they attend primary schools? Home tutoring? Somehow, they managed to read and pick up other basic skills, right?)
Max made it through his sophomore year of high school, probably by luck, or teachers who felt bad for him. He's miserable at studying. Horrible. Awful. He's not one of those people who likes books or math or anything that has to do with learning. His best subject in school was P.E. It still is.
He got drafted into the Orange Star army at the age of 16, before he became a junior. This was probably for the best – it's unlikely Max ever would have been able to graduate. It's not that Max is stupid, he's just not book smart. He's not the brightest crayon in the box either. He's not some secret genius who's just bad at school.
And in the army they taught him how to shoot and drive and run and he turned out to be so good at those things that he got promoted up the ranks to being a tank driver and he turned out to be so amazingly good at that that he got promoted up to being a commanding officer, eventually. Max didn't understand books – but he understood strength.
He went back to school at SBG because, well, he heard several of his CO friends were going and he'd be lonely without them. And he also heard this was a fighting school, and that was something he could get behind. He hoped it wouldn't have regular classes, and he could get his diploma easy just by punchin' people. Sadly that's not to be.
Academic skills: (Classes they excel at, whether or not essays are the thing for them, neat handwriting, attentive listening—how they manage to pass their classes or career.)
Max passes classes because teachers take pity on him. It's not that he doesn't try. He does. It just never amounts to anything close to passing.
Max does not do well in anything outside of military protocol (he's great at this), p.e. (good at sports that require power, not speed), and any general fighting courses (he's got a mean right hook).
Academic weaknesses: (And everything they manage to do to fail.)
The best he can pull in an academic class is a D. He's especially bad at anything math related. He might be passing Political Science because Robotnik seems to like group projects or class activities as opposed to homework. He is almost certainly failing physics. (FARUKON, HELP)
Do not expect any essays he writes to be above 7th grade skills – you know, paragraph with three points, then 3 paragraphs about those points, then an ending paragraph that says everything that was said in the opening paragraph, only worded slightly differently. And then his reasoning for things is going to be obscure, or inane. He just doesn't put anything beyond his basic feelings or experiences down to paper with any skill at all.
Math that's more difficult than addition and subtraction starts to confuse him. He can handle fractions if you give him time. Sqaure roots and exponents and anything like that will leave him lost and frustrated.
Main goal (dream) at this point in time: (Their main goal or dream is likely to change over time. How does it reflect their character? What hidden aspects are there to it? Elaborate.)
Be strong enough to protect all of the people who are important to him.
Secondary goals: (Like before, but smaller things that are somewhere in the spectrum, but not at the top of the list.)
Figure out how to heck to deal with Nell. Get the biggest biceps ever. (If he already has those, then get bigger ones.) Figure out how to deal with Lash. Finish school and get his degree.
Love interest: (One hopes this will change over time. What draws them to this person? Is there a common characteristic in all those they adore? What types of relationships are they involved in?)
Neeeeeeeeelllllllll…
Oh Nell.
Some time ago in Orange Star there were three brash young COs – Nell, Max, and Grit. And there was a love triangle with Nell caught between two very different young men. And Grit took the hero's way out of leaving so that Max and Nell could have a chance.
They had their chance. It sort of worked out. For awhile. But in the end it didn't work out. Nell's too much of a Lady for Max. Max needs somebody he can, I don't know, run 10 miles through the woods with then watch action movies and make out. Nell isn't that lady.
But he wishes she were.
He still carries a giant-ass flame for her. He won't admit to that. But he does. Right now they're friendly friends with friendship who like to do friendly friend things together, with friends. It's . . . awkward.
Family: (At least 100 words on each character should cover occupation, family history, how family members met (your character's parents), and a basic personality description.)
Max's Father was a soldier in the Orange Star Army, from a long line of Orange Star Army soldiers. He was big and brash and loud. Sort of like his son. He was sadly killed during one of the many skirmishes between Orange Star and Blue Moon that they'd been having since, basically, forever. Max jumped at the first chance to join the army when he turned 16 so he could continue in the family line like his father before him (also he sucked at school).
Max's Mother is a laundress. She does laundry. Also she gets a widow's pension (thanks, Orange Star Army!) She's pleasantly plump, and immeasurably fond of her son, and how he's done so well for himself. She tells him he looks like a twig and needs to eat more. She's actually glad that he's gone back to school – not so much that she thinks he needs to finish school, but rather that this way she isn't constantly worrying about him dying in some horrible tank-related incident.
Place of residence (city, house, etc.): (Where does your character live?)
Boy's dorm room BE-28 with his best friend forever, Grit. Max owns a house in Orange Star and he moved his mother into it.
Worst past experience: (Please remember that experiences are not limited to relationships--early/childhood experiences would be best, unless something that happened to your character as an adult has had a more significant impact.)
His father dying when he was young.
Watching Clone Andy die was a bad moment, too, because it was like watching his actual friend die in front of him.
Best past experience: (Please remember that experiences are not limited to relationships--early/childhood experiences would be best.)
Becoming a Commanding Officer. Beating the pants off of Black Star (at the time it wasn't very fun, dragging Jake out of a crumbling building and all, but afterwards it was totally awesome).
Hobbies: (All interests.)
Weight lifting, flexing, eating, lifting heavy things, eating more, doing things with Grit, doing things with Andy, doing things with Blastoise, lifting weights with Blastoise, eating, taking care of Slowpoke, football, and weight lifting.
Profession (aspired to): (What does your character want to be when they grow up? Or, if they're already an adult, what do they wish they were doing?)
Max is sort of happy doing what he's been doing – being a commanding officer.
He's going back to school to get his diploma just so he can say he has a diploma, and because there's no war going on right now. He enjoys his job immensely.
Strengths: (Try and keep the number small—weaknesses are more important.)
Can bench-press a tank. Enthusiastic. Believes the best in people. Believes you can do anything if you try hard enough. Nice. Loyal. Protective.
Weaknesses: (More important for role playing—please include several at least.)
Sometimes he's too protective. Clumsy. Easily confused. Makes assumptions. No book smarts. Loveshy at the moment. A little vain about his muscles. Dense. Doesn't think anything through.
Habits: (Both the good and the bad.)
Flexes a lot. Ruffles other people's hair. Manly shoulder punches other people. Grits his teeth and stomps when he's upset.
Any other information: (Basically an “other” category.)
Max has a pokemans named SLOWPOKE it is a SLOWPOKE it doesn't do very much except sleep and eat. SLOWPOKE.
Possessions: (Details as well. What your character owns and what quality it is in.)
Tank tops (many, in varying states of quality)
Dumbbells (many, heavy)
Protein bars (many, chalky)
Slowpoke (one, derpy)
Nice Dress Shirts That Can't Be Flexed Out Of From Colin (6, confusing)
Regular Tank (one, orange)
Orange Star Soda (lots, orange)
Wardrobe: (What your character wears and its condition. This should reflect their social status, financial situation, social involvement, etc.)
He doesn't wear the school uniform except for the pants. He flexed out of all of his school uniform shirts within the first couple of days. Now, Slowpoke sleeps on those shirts. Max wears tank tops almost exclusively. When it's cold he wears sweatshirts and hoodies. He also has a thing for wristbands and fingerless gloves (~Kumatora, you should bother him about this~). He generally wears cargo pants tucked into bigass steel-toed boots.
He wears boxers with orange stars all over them.
What they would say about themselves:
"I'm an okay guy. Not too bright but I'm fine with that. My biceps are amazing but maybe they could be a little more amazing."
What others would say about them:
"He's pretty nice, which is good because if he were mean I'd be terrified. How does he get arms like that is he on drugs? If he weren't so nice I'd think he was taking steroids. Also, does he ever calm down? Maybe he's taking speed or something."
What is the one thing in the world your character would do anything to avoid?
Failing his friends/ being weak.
What is the one thing in the world your character would do anything in the world to have?
Biggest biceps ever The knowledge that his friends would always be okay, no matter what.
How did your character make their enemies? Their friends? (Although this doesn’t have to be detailed, explaining circumstances and what unites and estranges your character with others is important.)
Max doesn't have any real enemies to speak of, outside of people from Black Hole. If he saw Candy or Suckface McGee or any of the Black Hole COs that didn't TURN TO THE LIGHT he'd probably flip tables and throw shit. If Flak ever showed up he'd also have issues – Max and Flak were RIVALS insomuch as they both had BIG MUSCLES and LIKED BLOWING SHIT UP but Max did it for AWESOME and Flak did it for FAIL.
Max made his Allied Nations friends by being a CO and the Allied Nations working together for JUSTICE.
Max made friends with Blastoise because they're like long lost brothers, except one is a pokemon. They both joined football and hit it off. He also came to know Charmeleon through football. From being friends with Blastoise and Charmeleon, Max came to know their teammate Bulbasaur, and Max became their poke-pal. So now Max is friends with Charmeleon and Bulbasaur.
Max arm wrestled with Doo-Liss once and in his book that makes him a friend.
Generally if you do any physical activity with Max and it's fun he'll be your friend.
What does your character fear? (Explain fears and the reasons behind them.)
Being weak. Seriously, this is his biggest fear. Max thinks if he can be strong enough to protect what he loves, then that's good enough for him. Conversely if he is weak he can't do this. Strong on the battlefield, strong in body, that's Max. Were Max to be remove from his muscles he'd probably go absolutely insane. I'm not sure how he's going to take old age.
What is irresistible to your character? (Explain why they can’t resist the irresistible and the reasons behind their inability to resist.)
Weightlifting, because of that whole "must be strong" thing. Food, because weightlifting burns a gillion calories.
Who does your character admire most? (The person, their admirable qualities, and your character’s reasons.)
Grit.
Grit is a lot of things that Max just isn't. He's calm, collected, clever, and sly. Max, on the other hand, is enthusiastic, flys-by-the-seat-of-his-pants, a bit dense, and incapable of guile. Grit is a lot of things that Max can't be. And Max knows that. And that's why Max looks up to Grit a lot. Between the two of them, they can do almost anything if they put their minds (or biceps) to it. Grit helps Max be a little more thoughtful and careful, Max helps Grit be a little more active. It's a good friendship. Max looks up to Grit a lot. He'd never put it that way, but I have a feeling Grit probably knows anyway.
